You're admitted. Now what?
You're now one step closer to earning your degree at UMSL. To keep the momentum going, you'll need to accept your offer of admission by completing our online confirmation form to sign up for Orientation and view additional checklist items.
- New User SetupBefore you begin, make sure you have activated your SSO username and password which serves as your official UMSL login for many of the tasks below. You will need your student number (12345678) that was included in your Admissions packet. Activating your SSO and password also creates your official UMSL email (SSO@mail.umsl.edu) which serves as the primary communication tool between you and UMSL. - Confirm your enrollment & register for Orientation
- Apply for Financial AidWe encourage all students to apply for financial aid by submitting the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Students can submit the FAFSA online at fafsa.ed.gov and the priority deadline to apply is January 1. The FAFSA code for UMSL is 002519. Please contact Student Financial Aid with questions about scholarships, loans or grants at 314-516-5526 or financialaid@umsl.edu.
- Apply for HousingUMSL has numerous on-campus or near-campus living options for our students, ranging from themed residence halls to on-campus apartments. By choosing to live in one of UMSL's housing options, you will have unbeatable access to campus events, concerts, classes, university shuttles, campus police, on-site staff, on-site laundry, as well as the opportunity to learn more about yourself as you gain independence and meet new people. - Submit Final TranscriptsAdmission is provisional until your final official transcripts are received and on file with the Admissions Office.

Once you have signed up for Orientation, this secures your place in the Triton family and you can take additional steps toward becoming a Triton!
There are many things to do, but we will make this a smooth transition, and New Student Programs is here to help you every step of the way.
As an admitted student, there are many items that will be communicated and posted in your Admitted Students Checklist online portal to help keep you informed of all the things to complete including: placement tests, sending final transcripts, how to prepare for your Orientation session, how to make academic advising appointment, and other items to complete before your first day of classes.
All new students must complete an Orientation prior to classes beginning.
